BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU HEAD COACH
Matthew Mentink “Coach” is a native of central Nebraska and from an early age he developed an interest in sports, weight training, and outdoor activities. In high school, Matthew was a Nebraska state runner-up football player for the Osceola Bulldogs and a 3rd place finisher at the Nebraska State Wrestling Tournament his senior year as well..
While in college, he continued to participate in wrestling and football at Dana College, Blair Nebraska becoming a National Wrestling Qualifier.
Graduating from college with a B.A. in K-12 Physical Education and his Coaching Endorsement Matthew was hired by Woodbine Community Schools to run their Physical Education and Strength Training Departments which he successfully maintained for over 23 years accomplishing 315 Dual wins as Woodbine High Schools Head Wrestling Coach, which puts Matthew top 40 in All Classes and All Coaches in the State of Iowa.
Since 2008, Matthew has been involved with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, training jiu jitsu physically and mentally. Jiu JItsu has become his greatest passion. He has Trained, Traveled, and Competed Nationally. In 2020 Coach Mentink fulfilled a dream of his and opened his own Jiu-jitsu and Wrestling Academy in Lake Park Iowa.
